Summer Ceramics Course - Intensive

Summer Intense Course – 6 classes, including 5 weekday classes and one weekend class, each session is 3 hours (6 participants)

Welcome to a summer ceramics course where you’ll have the opportunity to explore various techniques in both handbuilding and wheel throwing – in a creative and supportive environment. Over six sessions, we’ll meet in the studio and go through different ways of shaping clay together. Different techniques will be explored – from slab building, coiling, and simple sculpture to wheel throwing.

Our first five sessions will take place during one week, which makes this an intense summer workshop. Our last session, which will be our glazing session, will take place Sunday 19th July - a few weeks after our first five sessions. During this time your pieces have dried out and been bisque fired - ready for you to glaze.

The course is designed to let you try several methods of working with clay, with guided demonstrations and step-by-step instruction at each stage. You’ll learn how the techniques work, then get hands-on time to try them yourself, with personal guidance along the way. No previous experience is needed – the course is perfect for anyone curious about ceramics and eager to learn from the ground up.

After the final session, your pieces will be fired, and ready for pickup within approximately 4-6 weeks!

An additional clay cost of 80 SEK per kg applies. Glaze and other materials are included.

Cajsa Karlsson:  "I started with ceramics in 2017 and have since deepened my craft through courses in both Hong Kong and Denmark to refine my technique. I mainly work on the wheel, but I enjoy combining different techniques to explore form and expression. I'm really looking forward to sharing my knowledge, inspiring creative exploration – and most of all, having fun together in the studio!"

Sommar intensivkurs – 6 tillfällen, 5 vardagspass och ett helgpass, varje tillfälle
är 3 timmar (6 deltagare)

Välkommen till en sommarkurs i keramik där du får möjlighet att testa olika tekniker inom både handbyggnad och drejning – i en kreativ och stöttande miljö. Under sex tillfällen möts vi i studion och går tillsammans igenom olika tekniker för att formge leran. Olika tekniker kommer att utforskas – från kavling, ringling och enklare skulptur till drejning.

Kursen är uppbyggd så att de fem första tillfällena äger rum under en och samma vecka, vilket gör detta till en intensivkurs. Det sista tillfället, som är vår glasering, hålls på söndag 19 juli – flera veckor efter de första fem passen. Under den tiden har dina föremål torkat och skröjbränts, så att de är redo att glaseras.

Kursen är utformad så att du får prova på flera olika sätt att arbeta med lera, med vägledning och demonstrationer vid varje moment. Du lär dig hur teknikerna fungerar och får sedan praktisk tid att testa själv, med personlig handledning längs vägen. Inga förkunskaper krävs – kursen passar dig som är nyfiken på keramik och vill lära dig från grunden.

Efter sista tillfället bränns dina alster, och inom ungefär 4–6 veckor är de klara för upphämtning!

En extra kostnad för lera på 80 SEK per kilo tillkommer. Glasyr och övrigt material ingår.
