FAQs for our Courses and Workshops
What should I wear?
Bring or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty, and that can be easily washed.
Where is the course held?
Unless otherwise stated, all our courses are held at the Moln Keramik studio: Östra Mårtensgatan 20, 223 61 Lund.
The course I want to take is sold out. What can I do?
If a particular course is sold out, feel free to email us at: courses@molnkeramik.com to be put on the reserve list for those specific dates. You will be contacted if a place then becomes available.
What is included in the course?
The price for the Taster or Prova På workshops includes all materials needed for the class. When taking a multi-session course or workshop, unless otherwise stated, an extra charge of 80kr per kg of clay used will be charged by invoice at the end of the course. Glaze and firing costs are always included in the course.
Does the course price include taxes?
The price listed for all courses and workshops is inclusive of VAT.
When can I pick up my pieces?
Making ceramics is a slow process. Once your piece is made, it can take up to a week or more to be sufficiently dry to go in the ceramic oven. It is then baked a first time. At this stage, the piece then needs to be glazed, either by yourself or by your teacher – depending on the particular course you are taking. The glazed item is then baked once more in the ceramic oven – heating up to temperature and cooling back down can take longer than 24-hours! For all the steps above to happen, this can take several weeks. This is why we say all pieces made during courses and workshops should be ready for collection within 4-6 weeks of the course dates.
How many participants will be on each course?
Wheel throwing courses are limited to a maximum of 4 participants per course. Hand building courses, and mixed hand building and wheel throwing courses are limited to a maximum of 6 participants per course.
Are courses suitable for children?
Unless otherwise stated, all participants of classes must be 16 years of age, or older.
Will the courses run if they are not fully booked?
There is a minimum participant number for each of the courses. If we do not reach the minimum participant number, unfortunately the course will not be able to run. In this case, we will contact you before the course starts to see if you would like to swap to a different course date (if available), or you will receive a full refund.
I have changed my mind, can I cancel my course?
You can cancel your workshop or course up to 7 days before the start of your course to receive a full refund. If you cancel your course within 7 days of the starting date, you will be charged the full amount.
I will miss one session, what happens?
If you miss one or more sessions of your course or workshop due to sickness or any other reason, extra sessions will not be provided.
The course leader is unwell, what happens?
If your workshop or course leader is sick during one or more of your scheduled sessions, we will do our best to find an alternative leader for that session or sessions. If we cannot find a substitute, you will be informed at the earliest opportunity, and an alternative session time will be found. If you cannot attend this alternative session time, you will be refunded for the part of the course you have missed.
